New to the world of lash extensions? No problem! Here are some common terms and FAQ’s of the lashing world to help you navigate!
FULL SET
If you are not currently wearing extensions you will have to start with a Full Set. This service books anywhere from 90 minutes to 120 minutes depending on what type of lashes you want. Your appointment will start with a full consultation so you and your lash technician can discuss the different styles of lashes and find what will work best for you. During a full set appointment your lash technician will place an extension on every natural lash you have.
*If you are currently wearing extensions and have lost more than 50% you will need to book a Full Set
FILL
After your Full Set has been applied, you will need to maintain your look with Fills. Typically you will come in every 2-3 weeks depending on your retention for a fill. On average you will shed 2-5 natural lashes per day. A Fill appointment books anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on your style of extensions. When you come in for a fill your lash technician will remove any extensions that have grown out or are no longer secured to a natural lash. A new extension will be applied to any natural lashes without extensions to fill your lash line completely.
NEW CLIENT FILL
If you had extensions applied by another salon within the last 3 weeks and have retained more than 70% of those extensions you would book a New Client Fill. (If you have lost more than 50% you will need to book a Full Set) A New Client Fill books for 90 minutes. Your appointment will start with a full consultation so you and your lash technician can discuss the different styles of lashes and find what will work best for you. This will also give you a chance to express any concerns you have with your current extensions. From there, the service is the same as a fill.
REMOVAL
Anytime you need to remove your extensions we encourage you to have it done professionally to not damage your lashes. We currently offer complimentary removals. A removal is an appointment we make internally and cannot be booked online. Typically a removal takes 15-30 minutes. An oil based gel is applied to the lash extensions, after a few minutes the extensions slide off your natural lash. A thorough cleaning is done to complete your removal.
DAMAGE
Damage to your natural lash line happens when your natural lashes are adhered together or extensions that are too heavy are applied. At The Lasherie your natural lash lines health is our number one concern. We NEVER glue your natural lashes together, isolation is key! We also take our time to make sure every extension we place is the right size for each natural lash.
WILL I NEED TO TAKE A BREAK?
As long as you see a reputable lash tech you won’t need to “take a break”. If you care for the health of your natural lashes, extensions will do no harm!
HOW LONG WILL THE APPOINTMENT TAKE?
Our appointments range from 45 minutes to 2.5 hours. We book our appointments based on the time needed for the tech to achieve 100% coverage. Your appointments may vary in time based on the amount of natural lashes you have to fill!
CAN I GET MY LASHES WET?
YES! And you must! We recommend washing your lashes every day. This will keep your natural lash line healthy by removing any dirt, oil or makeup. Your retention will suffer if you are not keeping your lashes squeak clean!
